UAS Monitor Pollution in China

In China’s Hebei province, environmental authorities have dispatched unmanned aircraft to look for the sources of air pollution, and monitor the daily emission of factories. They flew to industrial zones in the cities of Tangshan and Xingtai.

The high-definition cameras carried by the UAS took pictures of every chimney discharging waste gas into the air. Pictures showed that some companies’ emission levels did not meet the national standards.

Inspection groups visited those companies and demanded emission reports from them. Those who failed to meet the standard have been asked to halt their production.
