The clothes may not be the focus of attention when Fendi presents its autumn/winter 2014 collection today. In a worldwide first, the storied Italian fashion house will use high definition UAS cameras to capture the catwalk action and beam it to viewers all over the world live via Fendi.com.

Fendi promises that the UAS will offer non-attendees the opportunity to experience the emotions of show, though they will have the option to switch between a classic view and the aerial view provided by the revolutionary technology.

“Fendi’s digital strategy resolves to continuously raise the profile of the brand, which has always been synonymous with creativity, quality and innovation,” says Pietro Beccari, President and CEO of Fendi. “We are enthusiastic to be the first using this technology on the catwalk which will allow us, once again, to be pioneers in our field and projected towards the future. In addition, we will allow our fans to see our fashion show like no one has ever seen before.”

Log on to Fendi.com at 11.30am on Thursday, February 20 to watch.

  1. Too bad it was yesterday, not today. And timezone was not specified. Looks like 1230 Central European Time.

The website is playing a recorded loop or something from the show, and the UAS camera resolution is pretty poor . . .
