Hexacopter Films Inside Dutch Parliament Building

Aerial photography company Aerialtronics, based in The Hague, Netherlands, just posted this scoop video taken of one of its Altura Hexacopters flying inside the Dutch Parliament.

The public TV News Channel NOS commissioned the project for their political review of 2011.They wanted to make unique shots of the Dutch Parliament building.

The initial plan was to film the outside of the Parliament Building. This was a challenge, because the building lies in a no-fly zone (EHP026). Although the company had the support of the Parliament, the Police and the City of the Hague, the Inspection for Traffic and Waterworks (IVW) refused to issue a temporary permit.
Nobody dared to sign the permit, because nobody wanted to take responisbility for something new: an unmanned aircraft.

Finally the decision was taken to film indoors where no such restrictions apply. With approval from the Parliament and the Government filming went ahead.

A section of the resulting programme can be seen here:

Given the success of the event, the company will probably do a re-run with the politicians present.
