AZAD System Co., which was opened last week by the President of Azerbaijan, in association with the Ministry of Defence’s Industrial division, has created a new industry in the country – production of unmanned aircraft.
Assembly of two types of unmanned aircraft under a joint-venture with Aeronautics Defense Sysytems– the Orbiter 2M (which can fly for 4-5 hours at an altitude of 4-6 km) and the Aerostar (12 hours at an altitude of up to 10 km) has begun at AZAD System Co.
Azerbaijan has already formed Orbiter 2M units and created the appropriate flight control centre.
