UVS International Appoints New Board Members

Yesterday, 12 January 2011, the UVS International General Assembly, which was held in Paris, France, unanimously voted 2 new members and 2 new observers onto its Board of Directors:

Claus Frey , EADS Deutschland, Cassidian, Germany (observer)
Abdoulaye N’Diaye , Thales Avionics, France (formerly an observer, now a full member)
George Papageorgiou , Honeywell Aerospace, France (observer)

The underlined names with * behind them indicate the new arrivals on the Board of Directors.

It is a clear manifestation of the association’s global reach that the Board of Directors now consists of member representatives from 13 countries: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Norway, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, USA.

Furthermore, the Board of Directors now represents 6 SME/SMI representatives, 11 Industry representatives, 1 Academic, 1 Air Navigation Service Provider, 1 ATM Authority, which makes it truly representative of the unmanned systems sector.

The new Board of Directors looks forward to tackling the many challenges facing the international unmanned systems community for the benefit of all, and has pledged to continue the association’s Global Access Initiative and its outreach to all aviation stakeholders
