Helipix UAV has just released the latest updated CAA ENR Warnings on .kml files for free download free and import into Google Earth here.
These files provide essential information on Restricted Areas, Aerodromes, contact details and much more. All the data is obtained from the National Air Traffic Service and is plotted on .kml files. This makes checking your flight for the proximity to hundreds of sites and zones in the UK easy. All details are attached to the plotted zones so they may be contacted for clearance.
With so many reported near misses with air traffic recently it is essential that as a UAV pilot you are fully aware of any potential air traffic below 500 feet. Contacting a local ATC of a flying club to inform them of your proposed flight will not only mean the club can fly safely but it also will give manned aircraft pilots the confidence that UAV pilots are aware of other airspace users.
