Australian Certified UAV Operators Association Unveils New Web Site

The Australian Certified UAV Operators Association has just unveiled its new web site.

The site contains a directory of Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) certified UAV Operators, information regarding the association and its members and links to important information and news about unmanned aviation, and the operation of unmanned aircraft in the National Airspace.

ACUO is a not for profit association first started in 2009 and formally registered in Queensland on the 31st.  March 2010. The association is bound by a Constitution to:

  • Protect the interests of CASA Certified UAV Operators
  • Establish the association as a responsible authority and
  • Promote the growth and expansion of the commercial UAS industry in Australia

The three primary objectives of the association are:

  1. To foster, encourage and continually improve the standards of unmanned aviation for commercial purposes whilst promoting and maintaining a sound regulatory framework in which to do so
  2. To foster, encourage and continually improve the safe and responsible flight activities of commercial unmanned aircraft within an easily accessible and low cost environment
  3. To foster and encourage the formation and growth of development of unmanned aviation controllers, and to provide the guidance and training impetus for inexperienced controllers and new entrants to the industry.

  1. I note from your web site that you are allowing members to download ICAO Circular 328 and certain ASTM documents. I would be very careful, these documents are copyrighted and are only available legally by purchasing from those particular organisations.

    1. Jim, I think that your comments were directed at the Australian Certified UAV Operators Association.
      I just checked their site again and I notice that the “Download” function has been disactivated….
