Rupert Murdoch’s ‘The Daily’ iPad News Shows Video Reports from Toy UAS

Rupert Murdoch’s ‘The Daily is the first American national daily news publication exclusively for the iPad. As part of the drive towards more creative content, the publication has been experimenting with video footage like this shot from a toy unmanned aircraft.

The editorial team are using a Parrot AR.Drone “quadricopter”. It comes equipped with two cameras (one facing forward, for steering; another facing down), an on-board WiFi transmitter, two interchangeable hulls, and an “ultrasound altimeter.” And of course, it can be controlled with an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad (synergy!).
