Cyprus to use UAS to Monitor Soil

Last week, Cyprus Institute’s Energy, Environment and Water Research Centre (EEWRC) held a three day UAS workshop that ended with a flight demonstration. Director, Manfred Lange, said that recent technological advances made by his team could offer an economical ways to help farmers, climatologists and event archaeologists.

Wales Launches Project to use UAS Remote Sensing for Use in Land Applications

The Welsh Assembly Government has just launched a two year research and development programme to explore the potential for advanced remote sensing, using small unmanned aircraft, for use in land applications, primarily high input arable farming. The programme is called Project URSULA – UAS Remote Sensing for Use in Land Applications.

UAS to Survey India-Pakistan World Cup Cricket Match

The epic India-Pakistan cricket match World Cup semi-final which be witnessed today by the Prime Ministers of both countries in Mohali in India’s Punjab, is a source of great concern for security forces. The Times of India reported that Israeli-made UAS, also during the Commonwealth Games last year, will be used for air surveillance.

New Mini-UAS with Motion & Breathing Detection Features

TiaLinx Inc. has announced the launch of the Phoenix40-A – a mini-UAS capable of performing dual functions as a motion detector as well as probing for breathing of a hiding person in a compound. The mini-UAS can be remotely controlled at long standoff distances from ground or an airborne asset.
