Roketsan‘s UAV-230 air-to-surface supersonic missile is in its final qualification phase and is scheduled to begin series production by the end of 2023, the company announced at the 16th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) held from 25 to 28 July in Istanbul, where a prototype of the missile was displayed. AeroVironment has filed a patent for a UAV payload module retraction mechanism. The mechanism includes a payload that can be stowed and deployed, with a biasing member to deploy the payload and a winch and flexible drawing member to retract it back into the UAV. Continue reading
