The Second European Commission UAS Panel Workshop
On 23 June 2011 the European Commission officially announced the creation of the EC UAS Panel at the Paris Air Show. The objective of the EC UAS Panel is to produce a policy document, describing the current global UAS situation and the key challenges facing UAS development and operation in Europe. The policy document should provide concrete recommendations to policy-makers on how obstacles can be removed so as to promote the development of the UAS market in Europe.

EUROPEAN COMMISSION UAS PANEL – Announcement of the Second Workshop
The official announcement of the creation of the EC UAS Panel and its objectives was made by Daniel Calleja in the GIFAS International chalet at the Paris Air Show on 23 June 2011. During this event, Peter van Blyenburgh (UVS International) gave a short overview of the objectives of the EC UAS Panel’s first workshop that was to take place at EUROCONTROL headquarters in Brussels, Belgium on 12 July 2011.
Netherlands Gets its Own Unmanned Aviation Network
On Thursday June 9, 2011, the first meeting of the NVvL network for unmanned aviation was held. Nearly 70 individuals from the sector participated in the meeting, representing more than 40 companies and organizations.

UVS International has been invited, for the second consecutive time, by the Indian Ministry of Defence, Aeronautical Defence Organisation, Defence Research Development Organisation (ADE) to team with them for the organisation and promotion of the ICAUV 2012 conference & exhibition, which will take place at the Eagleton Golf Resort (outside of Bangalore) in India in February 2012.
