Indian Air Force Drone Crash

One Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) belonging to the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed on Saturday evening at Bokajan under Salonibari police station in Assam’s Sonitpur district at around 6:30 pm.

The Sonitpur deputy superintendent of police (headquarters), Dr. Rashmi Rekha Sharma said, “Till 8:30 pm, the UAV could not be traced. The area has been cordoned off by the security personnel and district police.”

“The search operation started on Sunday morning,” she said.

There are various UAVs used by different Indian armed forces.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) uses Heron, which is a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAV.

Rustom is an unnamed combat air vehicle which is a production of DRDO dedicated to all three services of Indian armed forces.

However, the features of the crashed UAV, belonging to the IAF, are yet to be known.
