The UK company operates a fleet of stunt planes known as the Blades and is licensed as an airline, so it can take fare-paying passengers on ride-alongs as the planes do barrel rolls and other aerobatics.

Researchers with the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have used unmanned aircraft in three trials to count the number of sandhill cranes that visit the Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge and found them to be a safe alternative for both birds and scientists.
Last year, Scientists at Sandia National Laboratories and Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation favourably assessed a certain technology that could extend the mission duration and capabilities of unmanned aircraft.
