NOAA, Tennessee University Test Electric UAV with Autopilot

With a legacy of delivering reliable, robust and highly accurate small Unmanned Aircraft Systems , NOAA Atmospheric Turbulence and Diffusion Division (ATDD) of the Air Resources Laboratory has selected Black Swift Technologies (BST), a specialized engineering firm based in Boulder, CO, to integrate their SwiftCore Flight Management System with a UAV Factory Penguin BE UAV platform in support of a joint research project with the University of Tennessee Space Institute (UTSI). PAE ISR’s Resolute Eagle Completes First Commercial Airspace Flight

PAE ISR recently proved its ability to integrate unmanned aerial system (UAS) operations into commercial airspace. The successful commercial airspace flight of PAE ISR’s Resolute Eagle took place on Nov. 8 at the Pan-Pacific UAS Test Range located at Pendleton Airport in Oregon operating under a Federal Aviation Administration Certificate of Waiver or Authorization.  Continue reading

Vanilla Aircraft Completes 5-Day Flight

Vanilla Aircraft completed a historic flight at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility and the Virginia Space UAS Runway located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. On October 18th Vanilla Aircraft VA001 took off from the NASA Wallops Flight Facility and embarked on a historic long endurance test flight that landed safely more than 5-days later. Project Wing Expands Testing in Australia

Over the past few years, Project Wing has conducted thousands of flights to get our drone delivery technology ready for everyday use. In early 2016, we successfully completed our first drone deliveries to members of the public in an open field at Virginia Tech University. This fall we’ve been testing in a rural community on the border of the ACT and NSW and tackling an entirely different level of operational complexity: making deliveries directly to people’s yards.
