Agrobotix Integrates with John Deere in Australia

ausUAV enabled agricultural intelligence company Agrobotix has announced a new level of integration with John Deere’s Operations Center in Australia. The integration allows a user to push the Agribotix Digital Scouting Report directly into their Operations Center account.

This report combines whole-field evaluations with field-specific weather data and location-tagged photos and comments from scouts or agronomists.

“Because Agribotix is the leading drone solution provider dedicated solely to agriculture, we are especially excited about providing our customers a direct connection to John Deere, a company that shares our mission to help farmers stay competitive,” Agribotix chief operating officer, Paul Hoff said.

Victorian and South Australian Agrobotix services provider, Emmetts said it was a step in the right direction toward full integration functionality.

“Agrobotix have got the Application Program Interface access for Deere’s Operations Center to allow transfer of data in and out – so they can transfer their field analysis report into the operations centre,” Emmetts’ Matt Burns explained.

“However it is only a crop scan report – a pdf report -and can’t be overlayed with production data as yet.

“It’s the right step forward but you will still need the generic shape file which hasn’t yet been developed in the Operations Center.

“Getting the API agreement is good, and as the functionality improves with the Operation Center it will make everyone’s life easier,” Mr Burns said.

“You’d then be able to import the shape files and view them in the Operations Center and assign the rate for variable rate and off you go.”

At the moment that process is done using Deere’s Apex – a desktop based GIS system or similarly, a generic shape file such as SST or Farmworks, to import it into Deere’s Greenstar screens to set variable rate applications.
