Drone World Expo has announced that 500+ people have already registered for the event in San Jose, November 15-16, 2016. They’ve also announced new and renewed strategic partnerships with several organizations, solidifying its place as the gathering place for all stakeholders and end users of UAS technology.

Commercial Drone Alliance
“The Alliance is an industry-led, independent and non-profit association dedicated to supporting enterprise end-users interested in adopting drone technology and enabling commercial market growth, which is in line with the mission of Drone World Expo, so it’s only natural that we would select DWE as our official event.”  – Gretchen West, Co-Executive Director, Commercial Drone Alliance  (Read the full announcement here.)

AIAA – American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
“We are looking forward to partnering and furthering the conversation around drones between the scientific/R&D community and the end-user community, bringing these groups together twice a year at the DEMAND for UNMANNED UAS Symposium in June and Drone World Expo in November.”  – Tom Irvine, Managing Director of Content Development, AIAA, the world’s largest technical society dedicated to the global aerospace profession.

ATCA – Air Traffic Control Association
“As an association dedicated to the progress of air traffic control, bringing our perspective to Drone World Expo will help UAS users better understand the implications of drone implementation while also educating air traffic controllers and managers about new drone capabilities and how these vehicles are being used. This partnership is a natural fit, and one that will enhance the safety of the airspace moving forward.” – Peter F. Dumont, CAE, President and CEO, ATCA.

American Farm Bureau Federation
“Drones are the next evolution within American agriculture technology. Drones have the potential to help farmers grow more food while using less water and fewer pesticides. High-tech cameras and other airborne sensors give farmers important data to reduce their environmental footprint. This is important not just for farmers but for anyone else who cares deeply about the environment. Farm Bureau is excited to bring education and solutions to farmers and ranchers via this new partnership with Drone World Expo and encourage our members to attend this important industry event,” – RJ Karney, Director of Congressional Relations, American Farm Bureau Federation

MAPPS
“After the success of our partnership last year, we are once again thrilled to be part of Drone World Expo in developing the MAPPS Geospatial Track. UAVs are playing an integral role in the future of surveying and mapping, and it is vitally important we lead the discussion in terms of investment, technology, applications and regulations.” – John Palatiello, Executive Director, MAPPS

Registration is open at Drone World Expo, November 15-16, 2016, at the San Jose Convention Center in the heart of Silicon Valley.  End users of UAS technology may attend the full conference free of charge!*  Not an end user?  Register for a free expo pass which provides access to hundreds of products on display, all keynote presentations, Tech Talks in the exhibit hall, networking receptions, and select sponsored sessions.

  1. If the Alliance is truly dedicated to supporting enterprise end-users interested in enabling commercial market and economic growth, then they need to aggressively lobby the FAA to do away with the ridiculous mandate for commercial UAV operators to hold a fixed wing pilots license. Bernoulli’s Law of fluid flow to create lift and asking me to be able to calculate how much frost is going to form on my UAV hovering at a100ft elevation for 3 minutes over a soybean field or home being listed by a local realtor is totally ridiculous and the mandate is the #1 hindrance to small UAV operators trying to supplement their income, or like myself, supplement my social security check. I’ve been fly RC aircraft for 30 years and now that there is an opportunity for me to make some extra income the FAA is grounding that effort with this silly mandate.
