UK drone retailer Heliguy has announced that it has obtained National Qualified Entity Status (NQE) from the Civil Aviation Authority. An NQE entitles the company to train and examine drone pilots who want to become commercial operators and to use their aircraft for business purposes.

The company will provide ground school training, an examination and a practical flight test. Once pilots have completed these elements and prepared an Operations Manual, Heliguy is able to recommend them to the CAA for a Permission For Aerial Work (PFAW).

Heliguy has had to assure the CAA that its training, safety and compliance procedures are of a high standard and that our personnel and premises are fit for purpose.

Since April 2015 the company has been training drone pilots at our Newcastle upon Tyne headquarters by hosting monthly courses provided by other NQEs. Because satisfied students have travelled to Newcastle from all over the country, from February 2016 Heliguy will also be holding regular monthly courses in the London and Manchester areas.
