3D Measurement & Imaging Conference in December

Peter van Blyenburgh, President, Unmanned Vehicle Systems (UVS) International, Valentijn de Leeuw, Vice President, ARC Advisory Group, and Shabtay Negry, COO, Mantis Vision will deliver keynote addresses at the upcoming SPAR Europe 3D Measurement & Imaging Conference and European LiDAR Mapping Forum, taking place 8-10 December, 2014 at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Mr. Peter van Blyenburgh, whose keynote address is entitled “The Current Status Regarding Civil Operations,” will present on the problems and obstacles relevant to the integration of RPA (remotely piloted aircraft) into non-segregated airspace. Mr. van Blyenburgh will highlight the actions taken by the European Commissions and its agencies relative to RPAS (remotely piloted aircraft systems), and will provide an overview of the regulatory situation in Europe and the rest of the world. The session will conclude with an explanation of the interest for the photogrammetry community to be recognized as an aviation stakeholder group and offer suggestions on how to proceed in this direction. Mr. Valentijn de Leuww’s presentation, entitled “State of the Market: 3D Measurement,” will address the rapid changes occurring in the 3D scanning market. The session will provide insights from in-depth market research on the state of the industry, with an assessment of current conditions and associated market dynamics. The third keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Shabtay Negry and is entitled “The Professional 3D Scanning World in 2020 – Evolution or Revolution?” Mr. Negry will cover the changes that the 3D world has undergone since the start of the decade, examine the driving forces behind the market today, address how the emergence of mass-market solutions like Google Project Tango and Kinect could affect the professional market, and explore the possible directions that the market could go in the future.
