Belorussia Offers UAS Production with Turkmenistan

Belarussian PresidentBelarus is ready not only to supply unmanned aerial vehicles to Turkmenistan, but also to organise a co-production, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said in Minsk last week.

“The Belarusian National Academy of Sciences is negotiating the possibility of delivering multipurpose unmanned aerial vehicles to Turkmenistan. We are ready not only to supply, but in the long term to organize co-production of drones in Turkmenistan,” Lukashenko said at the meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.

Lukashenko also offered to supply Turkmenistan with Belarusian harvesters, passenger buses, and freight wagons. New prospects for cooperation are also emerging in the mining and chemical industries, the transport and logistics sector, housing construction, and in the supply of building materials to Turkmenistan.

As a pilot project, the two states could create a joint venture, making uniforms for Turkmen law enforcement agencies, Lukashenko said.

Berdymukhamedov arrived in Minsk for a 2 day official visit.

Turkmenistan has increased purchases of Belarusian road-building and transport equipment. In this regard, the Belarusian trucks were able to compete with the leader of the Turkmen market, Russian KAMAZ trucks.
