The US Air Force Collaboratory—Mind of a Quadrotor

The goal of The Air Force Collaboratory‘s second project, Mind of a Quadrotor, was to build a system that allows a quadrotor to navigate its surroundings with minimal human intervention.

Quadrotors can see and do things humans can’t. The only thing they can’t do is think like a human.  This project will further the development of autonomous quadrotor systems—teaching them to think and act with minimal human intervention. At the conclusion of this project, all the research and code will be shared with the open-source quadrotor community to apply to their efforts.The final robot that is currently flying in the lab will use a small package of sensors decided by The Air Force Collaboratory community.
