Insitu Gets $8.5M US Navy Contract for RQ-21A Upgrades

Insitu Inc.  is being awarded an $8,528,000 firm-fixed-price delivery order against a previously issued basic ordering agreement to address hardware obsolescence issues and align two previously delivered early operational capability RQ-21A small tactical unmanned aircraft systems to the current system configuration.

This delivery order provides for hardware upgrades as well as field service representatives and instructors to ensure a seamless transition.  Work will be performed in Bingen, Wash., and is expected to be completed in March 2014.  Fiscal 2013 Operations & Maintenance, Navy contract funds in the amount of $8,528,000 will be obligated at the time of award, all of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
