Iran’s propaganda organ Press TV claims that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has unveiled a new indigenous unmanned aircraft with 24-hour nonstop flight capability.
Called Shahed 129, it can carry out combat and reconnaissance missions with its 24-hour nonstop flight capability. The home-made aircraft is capable of hitting targets at a distance of 1,700-2,000 kilometers.
It can be equipped with electronic and communication systems including cameras which can capture and send live images.
Iranian military officials have said that Shahed 129 can increase Iran’s surveillance capabilities in border areas, the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
