UAV Vision Releases New Stabilised Gimbal

UAV Vision has announced that it is releasing its CM100, light weight, 100 mm diameter multi-sensor gyro stabilised gimbal. The CM100 has both High Definition colour electro optical (EO) daylight and Infrared (IR) sensors, and weighs less than 700g.  Upgrades include higher resolution IR, and additional sensors such as a laser target designator or laser range finder.

The ability to offer high quality gimbals at competitive prices has always been a capability of UAV Vision. Continuing with this trend, the CM100 is a fraction of the cost of any known competitors for this type of quality dual sensor gimbal.

Dr Daniel Fitzgerald, Sales and Marketing Director for UAV Vision said in this release today, “I believe this is major news in the unmanned systems payloads market. The CM100 will serve as a key technology enabler for many unmanned system platforms. It will allow you to fly longer and provide high quality EO/IR imagery for end users. Cost is an important factor, especially for smaller UAS, so we have listened to our users and are excited to be able to provide this low cost solution without sacrificing build quality. We will be offering the CM100 for under $20,000, with both EO and IR sensors included, at the AUVSI North America event next week.”

This unit has benefits for platform manufacturers, as it directly impacts lift and endurance dynamics, key design considerations of UAS manufacture. It is offered with an open communications protocol for ease of integration by developers and platform manufacturers.
