Flying Dutchman Flies 100 Meters by Flapping His Wings

Jarno Smeets, a 32 year-old Dutchman and creator of the Human Birdwings Project, made history on Sunday with a record-breaking flight of over 100 meters in his local park achieved purely by flapping his wings.

After 8 months of hard work, research and testing his hard work had payed off. Interviewed just after landing, slightly out-of-breath but visibly emotional, he declared that the experience was “f*****g amazing!”. Naturally, the exploit which was posted on YouTube, stirred a huge debate in the blogosphere about its authenticity, with various analyses by hang-glider and video experts proving that it was faked.

Later the Dutchman admitted on TV that his hoax was indeed was a social media experiment…

  1. The complete film has been made up. The guy admitted on Dutch national TV that it was all made because he was good in making animations. He never left the ground.
