Cloud Cap Technology has announced that its Piccolo SL autopilot will be updated with some new components in the next few months.
After 5 years of deliveries, several of the key components in the Piccolo have gone end of life and a refresh was in order. The new Piccolo SL+ is form, fit, and function compatible with the Piccolo SL but includes updated gyros, accelerometers, air data sensors, GPS, and an upgraded processor for extended memory.
The Piccolo SL+ is planned to replace the Piccolo SL on all orders beginning in March/April of 2012. All currently supported versions of the autopilot software have been updated to support the SL+. The new versions of Piccolo software are 2.1.1.j, 2.1.2.l, and 2.1.4.c.
