Folks at two beaches in Wilmington, North Carolina, had quite a surprise one morning. They found what appear to be military target gliders on the beach. Jerry and Barbara Kennedy in Oak Island sent in two photos of the plane they ran across on the strand, which is larger than a grown man. We also received a photo from Carolina Beach.
These gliders are usually towed behind a plane and used by other pilots for target practice.
