Poland to Start MALE UAS Selection Process

Poland is expected to begin the selection process for a medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aircraft system next year. Sources at the Paris Air Show said that three Israeli manufacturers will offer products.

The Polish defence department is preparing the tender that will initially include between two and four systems. At this stage the contenders are the US-made General Atomics MQ-1 Predator, the Israel Aerospace Industries Heron, the Elbit Systems Hermes 900 and the Aeronautics Dominator. Poland is expected to order more systems after the initial purchase.
